The Romans

The Romans

What did the Romans ever do for us?

The Roman Empire is one of the most fascinating and influential periods in world history, and its impact on Britain can still be seen today in our towns, roads and culture. For Key Stage 2 pupils, it offers a rich opportunity to explore how a powerful civilisation shaped everyday life in Roman Britain and how local communities adapted to these dramatic changes.

Students who take part in a Time Seekers Roman Topic Day will investigate the many exciting aspects of the Roman Empire and its influence on life in Britain. Through engaging, hands-on learning experiences, pupils will explore evidence, ask questions and develop their own interpretations of the past.

Alongside building their historical knowledge, children will strengthen key enquiry and problem-solving skills, learning how historians use evidence to uncover and understand life nearly 2,000 years ago.
